User Fees:

Non-members: $5 per visit

Members: no charge

Research Fees:

$25 per hour by the archivist.

 

Consultation appointments are available with the archivist and must be booked a minimum of two days in advance. A $25 per hour fee is applicable.

 

Research requests are gladly received by mail, email, phone and in person. 

 

Requests received by mail and email are answered in the order of which they are received. Due to high volume at different times of the year, requests may take 6 to 8 weeks to be filled.

 

The archivist’s time is limited for research requests but will do the utmost to accommodate every request.

 

Cost of copies is extra.

 

Copying Services:

Black and White (letter)                    $0.50/page

Black and White (11” x 17”)             $1.00/page

Microfilm copies                                $0.50 / page

 

Special Order Copying:


Postage $5 minimum

 

Scanning:  $20 per image to CD-ROM

Ask for quote for panoramic photographs.

300 dpi TIFF              colour

600 dpi TIFF              grey scale

 

Photographs:

PLEASE NOTE

 

All copying and scanning will be done at the discretion of the Archivist based on the condition of the original item.  All copies will be made in accordance with the Canadian Copyright Act. Patrons are required to submit a Request for Permission to Publish, Exhibit or Broadcast Form if the intended use is other than research or private study.

 

A $10 service fee applies to all requests for Permission to Publish, Exhibit or Broadcast.  No guarantee is given that permission will be granted. Once a form is submitted, the Archivist will research the ownership and copyright on the item.  Ultimately, it is the researcher’s responsibility to seek out proper authorization for copyright if permission is not granted from the Port Hope Archives. The Port Hope Archives cannot give permission to reprint an image that is not an original in the collection.
